I’m sorry, but nearly $6,000 for this retreat is hard to justify.
The names involved don’t inspire the level of confidence I’d need to part with that kind of money, and the offerings feel underwhelming for the price.
@LPWB — do you vet and engage with the organisations you platform before sharing opportunities?
In today’s climate—especially for writers—$5,500 is an astronomical cost. From what’s described, it’s unclear what participants would walk away with beyond some script development. That doesn’t feel like money well spent.
I wouldn’t recommend this without verified testimonials, clear outcomes, and more substantial industry backing.

Thanks for the feedback on this and we totally take it on board. We do double check organisations and opportunities before we post them.
That said, we also recommend our readers do plenty of research before signing up for any opportunity, especially when it involves parting with cash – our aim is put everything in one place for playwrights but we can’t vouch for the suitability of each opportunity for each individual. We do try to include as many opportunities as possible as long as they are legitimate. Perhaps some clearer messaging from us on the website would be useful so we’ll look in that.
