InTRANSIT Festival of Arts is an annual festival of site responsive art and performance from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The festival champions work that is immediate and relevant, encouraging the involvement of local people and places in the creation of new work in the Royal Borough.
Now in its eleventh year, the festival celebrates the changing urban landscape, making use of public and private spaces throughout the borough. We are looking to commission or support a number of outstanding new site responsive projects for the 2017 festival, which takes place in June.
Artists and organisers work together to bring the streets and less-familiar spaces of Kensington and Chelsea alive each summer. InTRANSIT 2017 runs from Friday 2 to Sunday 11 June.
This is a call-out to artists and companies from any discipline, who are passionate about working beyond conventional theatre and gallery settings.
What to submit: Your proposal should also focus on audiences. Kensington and Chelsea is a diverse borough, and we are committed to make InTRANSIT as inclusive as possible of its many different communities. The organisers can help you place the work within the borough, advising and supporting you on logistical or licensing issues, and finding collaborators and local partners
The theme for 2017: ‘Island Life: Fantastic or Forlorn‘
Proposals may respond to the theme “Island Life” in any way justifiable.
Fee: Between £500 and £3,000 grant funding may be invested in an individual commission, and projects that already have, or could bring in, additional funding from other sources are welcomed. We are also keen to commission work that will have a life beyond its iteration in the festival. The festival runs from Friday 2 to Sunday 11 June.
How to apply: To apply visit www.intransitfestival.co.uk or click here to find the submission form.
