Calling all budding film makers! As part of the Lancaster Words festival in July they are holding a short-film competition which invites entrants to make a 5-minute film responding to Paul Muldoon’s short poem ‘The Weepies’*
Entry to the competition is FREE and there will be a showing of the prize-winning films during the festival on Friday 7th July in the Storey Institute, Lancaster.
Entrants must be under 25 (on May 1st 2017)
How to apply: please send an email with a private link to a Vimeo or YouTube upload of your film. In the email you should include the following:
- your name, age,
- where you study (if still in education),
- the title of your film
- a sentence summary about how it responds to the Muldoon poem
All submissions for the competition should be headed ‘Film Festival submission’.
Prizes: 1st: £75, 2nd: £50, 3rd: £25
(Amazon vouchers)
Unfortunately, they will not be able to offer feedback to entrants. Submissions and any other enquiries should be sent to lancasterwords@lancaster.ac.uk. Copyright for all films remains with the filmmakers; by submitting your film, you assert that you are the copyright holder and you agree to the work being screened at Lancaster Words. Lancaster Words may approach you at a later about the possibility of using your footage in publicity materials.
