LONDON PLAYWRIGHTS’ PLAYWRITING LAB
10 Sessions, once per week, Thursdays from 5 October 2023
90 Minutes each session, 6pm – 7.30pm.
In these sessions, you’ll learn all the tools needed to write your first full-length play or develop a play you’re working on.
In a friendly, supportive environment, you’ll explore structure, plot, dialogue, character journey, staging and also learn how to generate new ideas for your work when you feel at a loss. By the end of the your first draft of your full length (60+ minutes) which will be performed by actors, as well as weekly feedback in each 90 minute workshop. As well as making new connections and contacts within a brand new network of writers.
There will also be lots of discussions about the theatre industry itself, dispelling myths about an otherwise intimidating industry, as well as conversations about the Film and TV world and how best to approach.
In short, this is will equip all budding and passionate writers with the industry and practical skills they need to kick start their career and help more experienced writers develop their work and move further in the right direction.
By the end of the 10 week course you will have:
A first draft of a full-length play (60+ minutes) which can be a monologue if you wish.
