Course Overview
This course is for Young People with an interest in playwrighting.
During the course, participants will develop the practical tools and skills to focus their ideas and turn them into theatre. Over five sessions from October 2025 to March 2026, they’ll take part in discussions, creative tasks, and peer-group working, finding out how to generate ideas and create structure, character and dialogue.
Professional playwrights will lead and support participants to gain a deeper understanding of the playwriting process, and participants will receive feedback on an early draft of their work.
At the end of the course, participants have the opportunity to submit a short play to the New Views Festival.

The course is aimed at people who have already begun their writing journey, and are looking to hone their craft.
