Luminate is delighted to announce a programme of bursaries for artists aged 50 or over who are in the early stages of a new artistic career.
Each bursary will be between £500 and £1,200, and can be used to support your artistic development. A total fund of £12,500 is available. This is an opportunity for older artists to define their own artistic development needs and be supported to meet them. Bursaries can support you to learn new skills, undertake mentoring, coaching or professional training, or travel – in the UK or further afield – to build networks or attend conferences. These are only examples, and there may be other areas you’d like to explore.

Deadline: midday on Monday 15 November 2021
All applicants will be notified of the result of their application by Friday 10th December.

Only for Scottish based artists folks….
It doesn’t say that on the Bruntwood link. There’s no mention of residency, that I can see.
I stand corrected. The Luminate site clearly states. Shouldn’t such provincial bias be illegal these days?
I agree Ron. You might see I have a Scottish surname, but I am not a resident there, so I’m not eligible, and I think that there is too much bias towards particular criteria in general, be it geographical or other. I accept that the post was offering a chance for over 50s which is a criteria in itself. I guess I’m waiting for an opportunity eligible for ‘over 50s based in the Midlands (West Midlands preferably!) who have had less than two productions to date, and who can show evidence they have been rejected more than 50 times in one year alone.’ Mmm.
