Salon:lab 2014 will offer even more opportunities and exposure to writers as they take our writer development programme forward and draw audiences and support from a wider network.
After four successful events at the Cockpit and Conway Hall in 2013, they are working towards three salon:lab showings of work in April, June and October, almost certainly on Monday evenings. Every event will be preceded by weeks of development work for writers. They will then receive instant audience feedback after a reading of their work in progress by actors from the salon:collective’s network.
What to submit/How to apply: “The pieces we have worked with this year have embraced themes including the London riots, post-nuclear devastation, the loss of community, alcoholism, mental illness: strangely, more than half of them are comedies (at least some of the time). Several salon actors have used the programme to create their own work for performance.
If you think this could be you, email thesalonlab@gmail.com for more information or simply send us up to 20 pages of a script that has not been previously performed by January 31.”
Deadline: 31 January 2014
