Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Attic Theatre Company seeking pieces for Playfest
Description: Attic Theatre Company is currently seeking submissions of unperformed plays or extracts of 15-20 minutes, which will be performed at the New Wimbledon Studio on 2-3 October 2015. Submissions are accepted anonymously by post (using phone numbers to identify scripts).
So, what’s so great about it? While there are lots of opportunities out there for short plays (or extracts) to be performed, it’s quite rare to find one that pays. This opportunity really stands out from the crowd because all participating writers will be paid a £100 fee for the use of their script. The anonymous script submissions ensures an open door to all applicants. If you’re selected for performance, this will be a great chance to develop your work on stage in a rehearsed reading and meet other theatremakers. Get your script in by 28 August if you want to be considered!
