Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Free Playwriting Workshop with Papatango Theatre Company
Description: On Friday 26 February from 2-4pm, Papatango Theatre Company will be holding a playwriting workshop that will cover the processes of dramaturgy and development, and talk about the 2016 Papatango New Writing Prize.
So, what’s so great about it? Usually our Pick of the Week features a submission opportunity, but there’s a lot to be gained from writing workshops. This free session provides the opportunity to connect with and learn from the good folks at Papatango Theatre Company – and the timing couldn’t be better, given that submissions are currently open for the 2016 New Writing Prize. (FYI – the Papatango competition is judged anonymously, so no one will have an unfair advantage by having taken part in the workshop, but it never hurts to get insight into how they work and what they’re looking for.) You have to apply to the workshop and be accepted in order to attend, so make sure you submit your application by next Wednesday 10 February if you want to take part.
Please note, we’ve posted this for your convenience and we’re not affiliated with the organisers of the opportunity in any way.
