Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: West Yorkshire Playhouse to open June script submission window
Description: The West Yorkshire Playhouse – which has a firm commitment to new writing and recently brought on board a new Literary Associate – will be opening for one of their twice-yearly submission windows from 1-26 June 2015.
So, what’s so great about it? This blog may be focused on London writers, but it would be a big mistake to overlook all the brilliant work being done outside the capital. This opportunity, which is open to all writers working in English, is a great chance to share your work and be considered for production or future development opportunities. (And you’d be in great company with other award-winning and daring new writers; currently playing: Chris Urch with ‘The Rolling Stone’, which won a Judges’ Prize in the Bruntwood Competition.) There’s just over a month until the deadline, so time to really polish that script before you send it in.
