Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Sohaya Visions looking for scripts promoting tolerance (prize £1,000)
Description: Theatre companies Sohaya Visions and Mukul and Ghetto Tigers are looking for scripts that promote tolerance and understanding in imaginative ways for their RAFTA award (Rise Against Fanaticism Through the Arts). The winner will be awarded £1,000 to develop the work to performance stage. 2 runner-up scripts will be selected for a reading with professional actors in London.
Why is it so great? We love the idea of an opportunity which promotes tolerance through the arts. Not only does this also have a prize of £1000 for the winner to help them develop their work further but it also provides two runners up with the chance to have their work read by actors.
