Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Submissions call out for FIGHT LIKE A GIRL 2!
Description: Following the phenomenal success of Fight Like A Girl! in December, which raised over £1400 for Cancer Research UK, they are back at the King’s Arms theatre (Salford) this August with FIGHT LIKE A GIRL 2! Inspired by the fights of brave women are three more nights of new writing and poetry to raise money for an excellent cause. They are looking for 8 short plays approx 10-15 mins in length.
What’s so great about it? Want to help raise money for a good cause and have the chance to have your work performed on stage? Then this opportunity is for you! This is also a great opportunity for those living further north as the performance takes place in Salford (Manchester) – and we do know that there are lots of brilliant playwrights who live beyond London (as well as plenty of London playwrights who would appreciate a trip to Manchester to take part!) All in all, we think this looks like a worthwhile event so if you can write a 10-15 minute play by the deadline of 30th April, or you already have something unperformed and suitable up your sleeve – then what are you waiting for?
