Painting Pictures With Words
8 June 2015, 2-5pm
Soho Theatre
Workshop description: “Inua is an award-winning poet, playwright and performer who crept into theatre after writing a long one-man show/poem called The 14th Tale. His highly lyrical and visual style of writing grows from a love of language, visual art and communication. At all times, he attempts to paint pictures with words and for these pictures to present a narrative before a character utters a word.
The workshop will focus on using the monologue as a tool for creating atmosphere and tension and exploring how to orchestrate a world that is primed for drama, before the drama begins.
Inua is Writer in Residence for Soho Theatre and for Talawa’s Writer’s Programme (Paul Hamlyn Foundation).”
Fee: The workshop costs £30 to attend (£25 concessions).
How to book: Bookings can be made through the workshop page.
