Paradox Theatre seeking monologues for competition (paid)

In their words:

This is a really scary time for all artists, for people worried about their families and loved ones. We planned on running a workshop this month but because of the virus are thinking of how else we can support female identifying and non-binary writers + actors. We are doing this through a competition, with a prize…

WRITERS – We’d love you to submit monologues from 2 – 4 mins to paradoxtheatreco@outlook.com .

Writing submissions close April 5th. The winning writer will receive £100. Only requirement is that you identify as a female or non-binary theatre-maker. Submit in doc. / pdf format.

Writers who submit will all receive feedback on their work, if this is something they would find helpful. Please drop your social media handles into your emails and we’ll follow you all!

ACTORS – Once we’ve chosen the winning monologue, we will cast a performer to self-tape it and post it online. If you’d like to be considered, please drop your Spotlight link or showreel below. The actor who is cast will also receive £100 for their tape. ***UPDATE: Acting deadline is 12pm 22nd March***

For the actors we don’t cast, we will follow you all and will happily provide feedback on showreels, headshots – however we can help! Again, only requirement is that you identify as a female or non-binary performer.

Self-isolation takes a huge toll on people’s mental health. Routine can be so important in helping to combat feeling overwhelmed + we hope we can help in some small way. We are heartbroken that so many theatres are facing uncertainty and stand in solidarity with everyone.

Deadline: 5 April 2020
