*Disclaimer: fees are charged to enter this competition. The Scriptwriters & Co International Festival is open to playwrights and screenwriters all over the world, with categories for screenplays and plays with 1-120 pages. The prizes are amazing and, because we’re relatively new, the odds of being placed are much higher than most contests with such good prizes.

They are sponsored by Final Draft, producers of the industry-standard scriptwriting software, so winners and runners-up of all categories with 30+ pages will receive FD12, worth £184, as well as laurels and a trophy.

Additionally, one screenwriter and one playwright could be on track to win route-to-production S&Co/Posterity Awards, worth c. £100,000  each! Posterity Entertainment aims to produce the winning screenplay, as well as an innovative theatre show mounted in the beautiful city of Bath, UK, where they are based

Guest speakers are:

JOHN HODGE, BAFTA award-winning writer of films including Trainspotting; T2 Trainspotting; A Life Less Ordinary; The Beach and Shallow Grave. His play, Collaborators, won an Olivier Award.

DOMINIC MORGAN (aka SCRIPTFELLA), screeenwriting guru, who’s been optioned or commissioned by over thirty US and UK studios and production companies, including Universal Studios, Working Title, Bold Films, Scott Free, BBC and ITV.

I hope our festival will interest the writers visiting your site and am pleased to offer them a discount of 30% on published fees from 30th January until 20th February, using the discount code DIRTY30. The final deadline to submit work to their writing competitions is 28th February.

There’s lots more on their  festival website, though categories, prices and submissions are via Film Freeway. The festival itself will take place on Sunday 10th April 2022.

Deadlines: final 28 February 2022
