S&CO’s Summer Scratch Night willtake place online from 7-10.30pm BST onTuesday 23 September 2025.
Submissions are open for writers anywhere in the world. This time they’re looking for original plays, screenplays or audio plays of 5-10 pages, based on the prompt ‘Yesterday’, ‘Today’ or ‘Tomorrow’ – or a combination of those three words.
It’s free to submit and attend (one script per entrant). The prize? Up to eight writers will see their piece performed ‘live’ on Zoom by professional S&CO Actors, with notes from Zanna Cardash and Alex Hollister. It’s a great place to test your work and receive professional notes in a safe, positive environment.
To compete, you must:
- visit Scriptwriters & Co for full details, and subscribe to their mailing list
- share a link to their festival website on social media
- be over 18
- be able to attend the online Zoom event
Your script must be:
- in English
- relevant to the theme
- 5-10 pages long
- spell-checked and formatted appropriately
- in PDF format, with its title and your name in the file name.
Scriptwriters & Co’s experienced readers assess every submission very carefully. Please don’t be disheartened if yours isn’t chosen, or leap to the conclusion that it isn’t engaging or well-written. Decisions won’t just be based solely on talent, but to offer the audience variety.
