The Royal Society of Literature is currently taking entries for the Sky Arts RSL Writers Awards, celebrating and nurturing British writers of colour at the beginnings of their careers. Five winners will receive ten mentoring sessions over the course of 12 months with an RSL Fellow writing in their form, as well as two sessions with Awards Ambassador Bernardine Evaristo.
Mentors for 2022 are Inua Ellams (playwriting), Jay Bernard (poetry), Nadifa Mohamed (fiction), Vinay Patel (screenwriting) and Nikesh Shukla (non-fiction)
The writer must be a UK resident and intending to remain in the region for the year following the award. Writers applying should have some experience in their preferred form but be at an early stage in their career.
Application is through an online form and requires a sample of work.
