Heads or Tales is a New Writing Scratch Night in London, created by Sláinte! Theatre a London-based theatre company which aims to tell authentic stories from Celtic Voices through new writing and devised works. They ensure to provide a platform and support for Celtic creatives in all aspects of their theatre-making practice, and thrive to create a network of creatives in London and to nurture a community of Celtic artists. To mark their third anniversary, they are bringing back their very first scratch night: Heads or Tales?
What is Heads or Tales?
At this scratch night, three writers will present two scenes from a work in progress: the opening scene and the final scene. The company’s mission focuses on representing Celtic voices, so submissions should reflect this. This does not mean the script must centre on Celtic narratives—there are no thematic restrictions, as long as the writer identifies as Celtic.
Please note that this is an unpaid opportunity, created to continue growing their creative community in London.
They are seeking pieces that already have creatives attached (e.g., directors, actors), although they may be able to assist with sourcing collaborators if needed.
