The Paul Darby Prize is now open for submissions with the aim of encouraging new stage plays and emerging writers. The winner will receive a prize of £1000, together with a staging of their play at the Questors Theatre in Ealing which is renowned for its’ association with new writing as well as extensive work with the RSC . Four short-listed finalists will also have the opportunity to be involved in rehearsed readings of their plays at the Questors Theatre.
Additional information: “Paul Darby was committed to supporting new theatre, and his experience as a sound designer ranged across Oxford, London and Chichester. This prize in his memory will give favourable consideration to plays that make creative use of lighting and sound! Throughout his life, he was involved with the Royal Brompton hospital charity; proceeds from the operation of this prize will be directed to their charitable fund, as well as to the Questors Theatre”.

How to enter:
- Submit two copies of your script (which should be typed, double-spaced, and printed on one side of A4 paper only).
- Do not write your name anywhere on your script – each page should include the title of the play and the page number.
- Enclose your entry fee of £5 by cheque payable to Mrs S Darby.
- Enclose one completed entry sheet with your entry and fully read the terms and conditions, both of which can be found on the website.
Deadline: 28 February 2014 (entries received after this date will not be considered, but the entry fee will not be taken).
