We are looking for: actors, dancers and puppeteers to take part in ‘The Writer’s Mark’ audition. The Writer’s Mark is an event that celebrates surrealist writers; launching at Fabrica in 2024. The event will be celebrating the life and works of Franz Kafka.

Job Description

As part of The Writer’s Mark event there will be both immersive and set performances – One being, Betrachtung by Franz Kafka. For this audition you will not have to prepare anything as the nature of the tasks will be ensemble focused and explained on the day.

We are looking for actors, dancers, puppeteers – Performers who’re comfortable with physical theatre or have experience in this form. Auditions for the main parts will be completed once the cast is formed.

Auditions will be held on two separate days, both at St Mary’s Hall/studio space in Kemptown in Brighton. Full address will be sent out via email once you confirm your attendance.

Audition dates:

-Saturday 28th October 4.15pm-6pm or

-Saturday 4th November 2.15pm-4pm

*To attend the audition please confirm your attendance by emailing our team directly on: natasha.thewritersmark@gmail.com

Please note, all auditionees must be 18+

Due to the nature of this project being self-funded, I cannot pay actors/performers – however, I am planning to perform Betrachtung for future festivals (Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe), so there is longevity in this project which I will discuss on the audition days.

Local actors are very much encouraged or if you’ve a connection to the subject matter (Franz Kafka) or Brighton/Sussex area.
