TRY OUT YOUR SCRIPT WITH PLAYER-PLAYWRIGHTS
Player-Playwrights was founded as a writers’ and actors’ co-operative in 1948 and has been
meeting on Monday evenings ever since to read and criticise new plays and scripts for
theatre, radio and screen to help writers develop their work. Our Presidents are long-
standing members, Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, writers of hit TV and stage shows,
including Birds of a Feather, The New Statesman and Dreamboats and Petticoats. The group
currently meets weekly at the North London Tavern, Kilburn with occasional meetings on
Zoom.
Who should submit: Any writer who would like to have their script read and criticised.
How to submit: Please send your script to the Programme Secretary, Tom Pauk, at
tgpgunner@btinternet.com. Your script will be passed to a mentor. If passed for a rehearsed
reading, you will be expected to join the group.
Fees:
Joining Subscription (Year 1): £15
Annual Renewal: £10
Attendance Fee: £3 (every time you attend an in person meeting. Zoom meetings are free.)
Guest Fee: £4
Prospective members are welcome to come as guests initially to see what the group is like.
The group is currently looking for scripts for our summer and autumn terms this year.
Scripts will be accepted until the end of May. Closing Date: 31 st May, 2024.
