The MA Playwriting course at the University of Manchester, is designed to provide a genuine gateway into a writing career in the theatre and performance industries.
Over the course of the year, students work closely with leading industry practitioners to develop your playwriting craft, dramaturgy, and to nurture your unique voice. Through intensive writing workshops, seminars, industry Q&As, one-to-ones with tutors, and development sessions with directors and actors, you will hone your craft and prepare for a career as a working playwright.
By the end of the course, you will have developed at least one full-length stage play, a full-length festival play, and a contemporary adaptation. The course culminates with an industry showcase at the Royal Exchange Theatre.
