Encounter are seeking interest from writers for a new show in the North East.
The brief: CHOIR An impromptu musical for anyone who has ever been part of a group, a club, a community, and for people who feel they are all alone. A musical look at our modern notions and ideas of community and individualism in an era of isolationism.A one man show set in the context of a community choir, through song, fictional narrative and shared conversation the show will explore and unravel our personal and national ideas of freedom, identity and autonomy.
Details: Part of Bridging the Gap; a multi venue scheme to support the making of new theatre work within the North East region, Encounter are seeking a writer with interest in fictional narrartive, direct address and also (unpolished) song to make a show that explores themes current, emotive and of personal and national significance us all.
