Job Summary
Job Description
We are looking for a visionary writer to craft a three-hand, two-act
(70-90 minutes) scripted play that captures the heart of our home,
The New Forest. The ideal script will be deeply rooted in the rich
mythology and stories of the New Forest yet possess a national and universal appeal that resonates far beyond our borders.
As this production is designed for both rural touring and established arts venues, we require a script that is agile and adaptable to place. Our ideal play would celebrate Forest Forge’s tradition of multi-role actors/musicians and puppetry. Ultimately, we are looking for a new contemporary, dynamic touring show which enchants, inspires and entertains.
As a company we aim to be playful, irreverent and heartfelt. We use theatre to find the extraordinary in the ordinary and aim to create shifts in perception and experience, from a tiny smile to a change in world-view. We are looking for a writer with these shared values.
We are able to offer this opportunity due to funding from Arts Council England.
