Writing for Stage will equip budding playwrights with the tools to write for live performance.
In their words:
“Over the course of five weeks, we will focus on developing a different playwriting skill – from crafting dialogue and constructing characters, to structuring your play and experimenting with form. Each session will involve a mixture of practical writing exercises, script sharing and scene study.
Writers will have the opportunity to share their work within a friendly and supportive environment. At the end of each workshop, writers will be given a playwriting exercise or stimulus to respond to in the following week. By the end of the course, participants will have assembled their own collection of original scenes and short-plays.
No previous experience of writing for theatre or live performance is necessary; all you require is an interest in dramatic writing and a desire to see your work brought to life through performance.”
This workshop is led by playwright and dramaturg Lee Anderson.
Workshop dates: 18 October 2019 – 22 November 2019
