Ambassador’s Theatre Group invites you to join them Lyceum Theatre for a six session Writing for Theatre course held on the following dates:
Monday 21st November
Monday 28th November
Monday 5th December
Monday 12th December
Monday 9th January
Monday 16th January – performance on a West End stage of work created during the course.
Sessions start at 6pm and finish at 7.30pm.
Working with playwright Ali Taylor, whose previous works have played to great acclaim at the Soho and Hampstead Theatres, writers will be introduced to the skills necessary for writing a play. Through engaging, practical exercises, the workshops will provide insight into creating characters, writing dialogue and structuring scenes. As well as sharing work, writers will study new playscripts as well as some classic texts. The course will culminate in writers creating a short play which will be shared in a rehearsed reading on a West End stage in front of an invited audience.
[*NOTE FROM LPB: Ali Taylor is an online friend of the blog and all emerging playwrights – he’s repsonsible for setting up @Playwriting_UK and the FB group that offer so many great opportunities to writers. We think he’s great, and this is a wonderful chance to work with him!]
Fee: £200 per person for the full six weeks (discounts cannot be made for those unable to attend each week).
How to apply: To book a place on this course please email ellenbott@theambassadors.com. Places are limited to max 10 participants.
