RAODS ‘321’ Play Writing Competition 2019 open for entries for performance in Italy

Romsey Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (RAODS) have launched their 321 Play Writing Competition 2019 and are looking for writers to submit entries which will be performed in Italy!

The competition comprises three separate categories: Physical, Monologue and One Act, each with a maximum of 3 performers Writers are invited to submit entries for any of the categories. The winning script in each category will be performed in May 2019 at Treviglio in Italy, by RAODS members.

The details of each category are as follows:

Physical – limited dialogue. Maximum of three performers. To include comedy. Duration 10-20 minutes. Cash prize of £75 for winning entry.

Monologue – up to three monologues in one piece. Performers may be on stage at the same time, but do not interact with each other. This piece to be translated into Italian, with the translation made available to the audience. Can be comedic and/or serious. Theme is being British. Total duration 15-30 minutes. Cash prize of £100 for winning entry.

One Act Play – maximum of three performers (though performers can be multi-role if required). No set theme, but it is to be borne in mind that this is to be performed to an audience whose first language is not English. Duration between 40 and 60 minutes. Cash prize of £125 for winning entry.

Entrants may enter multiple times in any or all categories.
