BITS is a new writing night showcasing the best emerging and established writers, directors, actors and theatre-makers both in the UK and internationally. Held every other month at The White Bear in Kennington and other venues across London, (most recently Streatham Space Project) BITS provides a platform for new work to be seen, developed and supported.
With an audience made up of the general public and invited industry professionals BITS is a supportive, friendly, fun and varied night featuring six 10-20 minute pieces of new work mixing all genres and performance styles.
The next BITS night will take place in on 10/11 February 2019 and they are looking for six pieces of new writing for the shows.
What they are looking for: pieces should be 10-20 minutes in length, have a cast of no more than four people and be suitable for staging in an intimate theatre space. Pieces can be previously produced in a development stage, but not as a fully produced production. They can either be standalone scenes or excerpts from full plays. Genre, style and themes are completely open. They love the bold, daring, weird, wacky, provocative, moving, funny, creepy, political, hard hitting and everything in between!
How to apply: please send your email submissions marked ‘BITS – Writer submission’ to the Cuckoo Bang team (Chris, Holly & Nel) at cuckoobits@gmail.com
Each piece will be assigned a director and cast. Writers are very welcome to offer suggestions.
Writers will be given a complimentary ticket to attend a performance of their piece.
Deadline: 10 December 2018
