Portsmouth Festivities 2014 Commission – Project Brief: Portsmouth Festivities, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the National Museum of Royal Navy are commissioning a new high profile mid to large scale production and community participation project for Portsmouth in June 2014.
The narrative content will be inspired by and directly tailored to reflect Portsmouth, making this a truly unique performance in celebration of our local heritage.

Commission Themes: This commission aims to educate and inspire audiences through the story of Portsmouth in June and July 1914, during the lead-up to the commencement of The Great War. The work will be a sensitive and moving commemoration of the start of The Great War.
From rehearsal to performance, participants and audiences will learn and be united by an important part of their shared heritage.
Budgets and Timescales: The commission fee available is £15,000 (to include fee, expenses and VAT).
Commissioning partners would be particularly interested to hear from creative organisations with capacity for compiling and submitting a funding bid (up to £15,000) to Arts Council England for this project (deadline Wednesday 26 February).
Total potential project budget £30,000 plus potential for ticket income (dependant on outcome from ACE funding bid).
