Founding Fall Theatre seeking submissions for ‘Free Fall’ event

Founding Fall Theatre are looking for stand alone scenes/short plays of eight pages for their next ‘Free Fall’ event, taking place on Saturday 27th July at Draper Hall Theatre in Elephant and Castle, south London.

Their last event here in December was a sold out success. From this they have been invited back by Draper Hall to produce seasonal new writing nights as well as commissioned to produce a full length play in November.

Their New Writing Nights are a scratch/improv hybrid made up of back to back snippets of work bookended by their company band. With an intense three day rehearsal process and live musicians improvising around the text they aim to ignite those raw, unpredictable free fall moments in theatre which have you on the edge of your seat.

What they are looking for:

  • Stand alone scenes/short plays
  • No longer than eight pages
  • One submission per writer
  • A piece you’re comfortable to be played with and stretched in rehearsals and potentially on the night in front of an audience.
  • No prior experience necessary

As a developing company, they are keen to find writers to work with and produce. They are currently attached to Draper Hall and will be collaborating with them over the next year to create new work. They have already found some brilliant artists to work with and are always on the lookout for more, so this is a great way to introduce yourself to them.

How to apply: please send a short paragraph about yourself, why you would like to work with them and your submission to fftheatre.submissions@gmail.com

Deadline: 12 July 2019 at midnight
