W5 Productions is a new production company. In November they’re staging a full schedule of events- new films, theatre, live events- for their Mental Health Festival.
What they are looking for: writers to submit 1 act plays focused on 1 aspect of mental health detailed below.
They are looking for plays that will initially be performed during the festival within the University of west London. This will serve as a showcase for the work and producers will be invited to these one act plays. If they, or their collaborative partners, are interested in a 1 act play showcased at the festival they will then look at working with the writer to form a full length play that will then be produced at a London venue.
The subjects they are looking for pieces on need to fall within one of the following:
– Depression and Anxiety
– Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
– Body Image and the media
– Dealing with my sexuality and mental health
– Suicide Prevention
They are looking for both hard hitting drama as well as pieces with humour. They can be of any style but must be no more than 1 hr in running length and feature no more than 5 characters.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALTHOUGH THE CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS 15TH JULY WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT A CERTAIN NUMBER OF SCRIPTS. AFTER WE HAVE RECEIVED THIS NUMBER WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONSIDER ANY MORE. THEREFORE EARLY SUBMISSIONS ARE STRONGLY ADVISED.”
