We are very excited to be bringing you a FREE Introduction to Playwriting Workshop as part of this year’s SouthWest Fest.
In this interactive and practical workshop, you’ll delve into the basics of playwriting: from coming up with an idea to developing your story, creating interesting characters and more! You’ll also look at how plays are formatted and explore options for budding playwrights who want to learn more beyond the session.
Suitable for complete beginners, no experience required!
What to expect: the session, which takes place on Zoom, will be led by London Playwrights Co-founder and Director, Kimberley Andrews. We’ll go through the main principles of playwriting and explore how you can generate ideas and shape them into a story. The session will include practical exercises where you ‘ll write independently with your camera off. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about playwriting.
Who is it aimed at: everyone!
What to bring: there is no prep for the session, just bring a notebook and pen (or device if you prefer) to write with.
How to book: Book your FREE place via Eventbrite.
We welcome donations to help us to continue in our work to help playwrights develop their skills and find opportunities. Find out more about how you can support us here.
