Summerseat Players – I’m Still Here Monologue Competition

‘I’m still here’ – Summerseat Players monologue competition

The Summerseat Players, a thriving community theatre in the north of England, are looking for short monologues which can then be produced by professional filmmaker Michael Wray to form a series of short films for periodic release on Facebook. The series will be entitled ‘I’m still here,’ and will look at the current situation in our society from different perspectives.

The competition is split in to two categories; The adult section will feature monologues from writers over the age of eighteen and the youth section will feature work from writers aged eighteen and under.

Summerseat Players are looking for three entries from each category. The films will then be produced by the Summerseat Players, who will realise the project using their in-house creative team and actors.

Guidelines

  • Scripts must be no more than three minutes in length.
  • Scripts must only feature one character.
  • Scripts must be set in an open, generic, public location – for example a park.
  • Due to the release being through their Facebook page there must be no profanity or nudity in the script.

Writers must provide their completed script as a Microsoft Word or PDF document. In the body of the email entrants must include their full name and age (to decipher which category the entry will be eligible for).

More detailed rules can be found on the Summerseat Players website

Deadline:  1 October 2020 at midnight
