It’s back, and it’s better than ever!
Our brand-new Play Club program is our online book club with a twist! This time, we’ll be featuring new writing from 3 incredible writers selected from our 2020 submission window.
Every other month we’ll be sending out a play for you to read and we’ll all meet up to chat about it online. You’ll have the opportunity to meet the writer and get to know the ideas behind the story before we challenge you to write a short 10-page play in response, inspired by what you’ve read. We’ll announce the winning pieces from each submission window at the end of August. Those writers can look forward to having their plays read by actors at an Autumn 2021 event!

Who can apply?
Writers over 18 of all levels are welcome to apply, however, you do need to be a member of London Playwrights’ Workshop (Membership costs less than £4! You can find out more about joining here) This is because our work is completely supported by our members and it allows us to create and produce fantastic opportunities like this one!
Members can then simply login and head to the sign up page to receive Play Club emails via the mailing list.
Play Club Updates
Be sure to check your inbox for #PlayClub updates! We’ll email you the plays to read, invite you to our meetings and share details on how to submit your responses when the submission windows open throughout the year.
If you’d prefer to simply read the plays along with us and join in with our discussions you’re more than welcome to! There’s no pressure to write a play. Alongside our meetings over Zoom we’ll be chatting about the plays on the Play Club 2021 Facebook group!
