Learn with London Playwrights: Angels in America

Learn with London Playwrights is a series of podcast style lectures, resources, and workshops covering all things theatre related! Whether you’ve never studied theatre, want to brush up on your Brecht, or just want to learn something new, Learn with London Playwrights is for everyone!

In the series, we’ll be diving into a wide variety of subjects from key playwrights to theatre styles to industry advice (Read all the details here!).

The first session in the series will arrive on the members site on 1st June and will cover…

Angels in America

This iconic play by Tony Kushner is considered one of the most important plays of the 20th century. Hugely significant for LGBTQ+ theatre and American theatre, the play’s Brechtian style and huge scope is a lesson for writers in dreaming big, and imagining what is possible on stage.

How to take part: to access the podcast and downloadable handout, simply head over to the Learn with London Playwrights page on the members site on or after 1st June. (not a member yet? Find out more and join here!)

Zoom Workshop: if you like what you see in the online resources and want to take the discussion further, we’ll be also running a Zoom session on the topic as a double bill with Rent. Tickets are FREE for members to celebrate the launch of Learn with London Playwrights. The session takes place on Sunday June 27th 2021 at 4pm-6pm and you can book your spot here.
