Description: The Painkiller Project is a playwriting project that runs every other month from Bitter Pill Theatre with a £200 prize for each winning play.

The winning play will be produced and released on The Painkiller Podcast.

​They hope that the repetitive nature of the competition helps to make the project feel collaborative and cyclical – like theatre.

So far their plays have been performed by actors including Tamsin Greig, Miriam Margolyes, Toby Jones, Noma Dumezweni, Jason Watkins and Jessica Barden.

Why is it so great? Here’s your reminder that the next Bitter Pill submission window is coming up! If you want your short play to be produced and recorded on this brilliant podcast and win a £200 prize then you won’t want to miss out on submitting your work – the window opens on 6th September and closes on the 9th and their looking for short plays for 1-2 actors.
