Working with New Writing for Actors and Theatre Makers: Annie’s 1000 Plays

This practical workshop will use new writing to explore the journey from page to stage. You will develop devising techniques, work on collaborating with others, and discover how to work with new writing. This workshop will aim to give everyone a chance to bring a new piece of writing to life.

As part of the Shakespeare in Shoreditch Festival in October 2014, playwright Annie Jenkins was locked in a shed for 10 days, challenged with the task of writing 1000 plays. This workshop will bring to life a selection of Annie’s 1000 Plays.

Whistlestop Theatre started in 2011 when Leah Cooper and Rebecca Hewett finished their Masters at RADA. Whistlestop Theatre began creating new modern adaptations of Shakespeare that toured Secret Garden Party, Leefest, The Barons Court Theatre, The Old Red Lion, The Courtyard, Bussey Building and The White Bear Theatre.
