Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Gillian Hush Award for Radio Drama
Description: The Gillian Hush Award provides the financial support for the selected writer to attend a residential course on Radio Drama with the Arvon Foundation, taking place from 2-7 November 2015 at The Hurst in Shropshire.
So, what’s so great about it? Writers rave about the Arvon experience, which provides the opportunity for intensive creative development in a beautiful setting, with personal access to top-notch tutors. The full course fee normally runs at £725, so this scholarship provides an opportunity for writers with financial need to be able to fully partake in this amazing experience. If you have an interest in writing for radio – which has been prime training ground and provided breakthrough opportunities for many leading dramatists – this could be your start. To have the chance to work with tutors Anjum Malik and Peter Leslie Wild, get your application in by the deadline on 1 September 2015.
