The Screen Arts Institute Talent Programme BAME Fellowship

Creative Skillset have launched a new programme to help address the under-representation of BAME inidividuals in the film industry.

The programme supports two bursaries (worth over £11,000 each) to attend The Screen Arts Institute‘s Talent Programme equipping those with the correct skillset to develop a major project for film or television.

The selected individuals have a choice of enrolling on either ‘Storytelling for the Screen‘ or ‘Directing for the Screen‘.

Both programmes run for over a year and commence at the end of November, with applications closing onSunday 15th November.

What to submit:  If you want to greatly improve your skillset at an institute heaving with award-winning contacts and mentors, all for free, apply with the below:

  • An example of your screenwriting (any length but it must be a piece of fiction). And, if you are a director/producer – an example of a completed film/TV project (Vimeo link or similar).
  • An analysis of a scene from a film that you have found particularly powerful, with an emphasis on analyzing how the film-makers have achieved this power. At the same time, we would like you to offer suggestions on how, perhaps, the scene could be improved. (400 words max.)
  • A CV of your educational background and all relevant professional experience.
  • Most importantly: please email a logline and one-page pitch of the major project that you think you’d like to develop while on our programme. (600 words max. Use Courier 12pt)

How to apply:  Send your answers to Stephen.may@thescreenartsinstitute.com.

Deadline: 15 November 2015
