Interval Productions seeking new musicals for Made in LDN

Made in LDN is a season of New Diverse British Musical Theatre at The Cockpit. On the second Sunday of every month (March-June) we will feature a One Act showcase performance or highlights from a brand new musical in development, as well as a ‘spotlight on’ for a composer/song-writing duo to a public and industry invited audience.

  • Interval will cast a mix of established and brand new and talent.
  • Leading up to performances, Interval Productions will be on hand to mentor, advise/give feedback to all writers, helping to hone + shape the work.
  • They will help you to create a pitch pack for industry, gearing towards future full scale productions.

“Interval Productions believe that new British musical theatre needs a shake up! It is important that we keep creating and over-seeing innovative and exciting work and that we build relationships with people who are on the same page as us”.

 Who is eligible?

“In truth, anyone. As long as you’ve put some work in and begun writing, we want to hear from you. We are happy to accept pieces that have been workshopped or performed before, as long as you want to develop them further, and we’re happy to receive brand new pieces that have never seen the light of day. So what are you waiting for? Get in touch!”

To apply with a musical/musical in development…

Send an email to apply@madeinldn.net including the following information:

  • A script of your chosen musical (if you haven’t completed it, that’s fine, just send what you’ve got) preferably in a PDF format.
  •  At least two demos of songs from the show (doesn’t matter how rough it is, it can even be a voice note from your phone, just enough so that we can imagine it.)
  •  A brief synopsis and casting info (how many/boys/girls/ages/band set up etc). And whether you have sheet music ready for the production or would want to play yourself.
  • A little bit about you. What you’ve been up to, what you’re working on or towards.

To apply as a composer/song writing duo etc…

Send an email to apply@madeinldn.net including the following information:

  •  At least five demos of songs you’ve written (doesn’t matter how rough they are, they can even be voice notes from your phone, just enough so that we can imagine it.)
  •  Whether your songs are from shows or stand alone pieces. If they’re from shows it’d be great to know a tiny bit about the shows.
  •  A little bit about you. What you’ve been up to, what you’re working on or towards.

What happens next? Successful candidates will hear from them by the 3rd of March with further details.

Deadline: none posted (but before 3 March 2016!)
