Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Goblin Baby seeking monologues for performance at the Bread & Roses Theatre
Description: From 12-16 July, Goblin Baby Theatre will present ‘Alone Inside The Box’ at the Bread & Roses Theatre. They are currently open to submissions of monologues on topical subjects, which should run 10-20 minutes and can be for characters of any gender.
So, what’s so great about it? Many short play opportunities specifically discourage monologues, so this is a great opportunity to exercise your writing for solo performer! You are allowed to submit even if your script has been performed before, and writers will receive a share of the money made from ticket sales. This is a great chance to build links with a new up and coming venue, so get your script in by the deadline of 8 May if you’d like to take part!
