As you know, we’re running The Dark Horse Festival next week as part of London Writers’ Week. The festival showcases the best unproduced scripts in London and shows the wide range of London’s playwriting talent. We’re running a fundraising campaign to make sure the festival is as successful as it can possibly be!
We’re a non-profit organisation and it is our core value that the content on our website and the opportunities we bring you are, and always will be, free. However, we’re also passionate about creating opportunities for playwrights ourselves and The Dark Horse Festival is us making this happen! Through the contacts we’ve made through our work, nominations from theatres and an open call out for scripts, we’ve selected five unproduced plays from exciting new writers – and we’re hoping that their place in the festival will give them the recognition they deserve.
The festival is costing over £10,000 to run and thanks to Arts Council England and a private donor, we’ve covered the bulk of our costs, but – we haven’t quite crossed the finished line. We’re still short of our target, and reaching it will ensure we run things as brilliantly as possible for the writers involved!
And so, we’re asking for your help – if you can donate, even the tiniest amount, it really will make all the difference to our work. Pennies, a fiver, whatever you can spare – we really would be grateful for your support.
If you’d like to donate, please visit our Go Fund Me page and as we said, even the smallest amount would be much appreciated!
The festival takes place on 7 July 2016 – see all the details and book here.
Thanks for your support and of course, thanks for reading our website!
