The King’s Head Theatre is looking for submissions for their annual New Writing Festival, #Festival47 in July 2017.
Perfect for Edinburgh previews, they’re offering up to 5 performances for each company, depending on the size of the company, budget and the strength of the piece.
Show guidelines:
- In line with the King’s Head’s in-house agreement with Equity, all companies must pay performers and stage managers the national minimum wage.
- The festival is designed to accommodate shows of 60 minutes or less. If your show is longer than 60 minutes, there will be extra costs involved.
- The get-in time for each show in the festival will be 2 hours. Please consider this when applying.
How to apply: Applications and info can be found here – http://www.kingsheadtheatre.com/festival-47 – and feel free to contact the team with any questions.
Deadline: Monday 6 March 2016 at 6pm

Sorry, I don’t understand this phrase: “The get-in time for each show in the festival will be 2 hours. Please consider this when applying.”
I have a play for 2 to 3 actors and it is 15 min long. The third actor is not indispensable, he is a waiter and doesn’t have to talk, almost an extra. Please tell me if I can send my play and be kind enough to reply to my firs inquiry please.
Hi Claudette, you need to contact the organisers directly with any questions about opportunities. We’re just posting this to share the information, so we don’t have the answers to these questions. If you find an email for the organisation that’s probably the best bet.
Hi
I didn’t realise that! I thought I could ask question. Thanks.
