Testlab New Writing Festival offering commissioned R&D

Testlab are open for submissions from midnight 2nd December 2016 – midnight 28th January 2017. The winner will receive a commissioned R&D period and rehearsed reading at The Ropewalk in Barton Upon Humber.

TestLab is based in North Lincolnshire and looks favourably on work coming out of the Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Humber areas. However, they are open to anyone resident in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

What to submit: They are accepting scripts from 60-120 minutes in length.

TestLab are not prescriptive in the plays they consider, asking only that they have never before been professionally performed. They say: “We ask you to consider your audience and what impact this would have on touring your work should you choose to take your production further.”

They look favourably on work:
-For or about children and young people.
-That utilises actor/musicians.
-That comments on their locality (Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Humber).
-That comments on the way we live now.
-With an eye for aesthetics.

How to apply: They are only able to accept entries submitted in a PDF format and as one document.

All entries should submitted through the TestLab website or emailed to submissions@testlabnewwriting.com.

All scripts must include at least one telephone number and an email address on the front page.

All entries should include page numbers on every page.

Deadline: 28 January 2017 at midnight
