Rich Creative Productions return with their acclaimed feminist scratch night: The Female Gaze & Other Stories. Volume III: Spellbound. They are looking for scripts that explore the theme of witchcraft in relation to womanhood.
In their words: “Whether it’s witches, spells, psychic energy or rituals, we want to hear how witchcraft relates to the female experience, when it comes to: control, individuality, independence, isolation, pregnancy, power, periods, puberty, persecution, religion, segregation etc.”
They will be selecting 5 pieces to be performed in the round at The Cockpit theatre on October 17 2017.
What you get:
1) Two weeks of redrafting and development on pieces including two read-through’s with professional actors.
2) Your piece rehearsed, directed and staged at the Cockpit.
3) The chance to showcase your work in front of industry guests (past guests included theatres such as The Pleasance and The Yard.)
What to submit/How to apply: Submissions must be no longer than 15 minutes, and can either be a short piece or an extract. Pieces must include at least one female identifying character, and writers much be London based and available during the evening on the following dates: Tuesday 22 August, Thursday 24 August and Friday 1 September. Writers must be also available to work on redrafting or developing pieces between 14th-27th August. Email your entry to richcreativeproductions@gmail.com with the subject line: ‘FG3/TITLE OF PIECE’.
