Access Platform seeking new work from D/Deaf & Disabled artists

Access Platform is a new writing night platforming 5 D/deaf and disabled writers at Vault Festival 2019.

“We know there is not enough D/deaf and disabled representation on our stage and screens. There are huge organisations that are addressing this, but there isn’t a lot at fringe level. Fringe theatre is such an important step in an arts career and we want to give D/deaf and disabled talent a chance to shine in front of a paying audience and industry professionals. Access Platform is curated and produced by disabled dramaturgs; director Stephen Bailey and playwright Amy Bethan Evans.”

Who can apply: anyone who self-identifies as D/deaf and/or disabled under the social model of disability and is eligible to work in the EU. They don’t need proof or details of your impairment, just confirmation that you self-identify.

How to apply: please submit a 5-10 minute (complete) piece of theatre with 1 or 2 characters to AccessPlatformVaults@gmail.com before 31st January 2019. Please Include your phone number if you use the phone. Plays can be on any subject matter.
