Are you a creative young Black person interested in playwriting? Are you passionate about theatre and Black British culture?
Anthem is an exciting new playwriting project for aspiring Black writers aged 16-25, inspired by Lolita Chakrabarti’s new play Hymn.
Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a series of free writing masterclasses with established writers, including Lolita Chakrabarti. The masterclasses are aimed at introducing and developing the skills and approaches you need to develop as a playwright.
Everyone involved in the project will also have the opportunity to access a live streamed performance of Hymn for free.
A second phase of the project will give the opportunity to a selection of writers to be involved in a series of workshops and mentoring to develop a short play of their own for a new anthology.
If you feel you have something to say, and your voice could contribute to the Anthem of your generation, find out full information and apply on the Almeida website
