Comedy Classroom is a new BBC initiative designed to get young people writing and involved in comedy. There’s a competition with three different categories but even if you’re not eligible to enter, the scheme’sofficial website is bursting with fantastic videos offering practical advice on writing comedy.
David Walliams shares some secrets about crafting a great stand-up routine and Jack Whitehall reveals some of his top tips. The site also has dozens of videos illustrating various aspects of comedy, from juxtaposition to misdirection and metaphors.
And if you’re involved in education you’ll find teachers resources including a downloadable handbook and a selection of posters.
