BBC Writersroom – Script Room 10 now open for Drama submissions

BBC Writersroom’s regular window for unsolicited scripts is now open for Drama scripts (TV, film, radio, stage or online).

Writers will be asked to submit:

  • 1 drama script of at least 30 minutes / pages in length for TV, Film, Radio, Stage or Online*
  • A brief bio of your writing to date (up to 1 paragraph)
  • If you are submitting an episode script for a series/serial, you may also attach a brief outline (1-3 pages) of further episodes and the series/serial as a whole.  This should be attached as a separate PDF document to your script.

*Your script should be a saved as a single PDF document of no more than 10MB in size.

*If you are submitting a sample script for Children’s TV, Radio 4’s 15 Minute Dramas or Online, you are welcome to submit 2 x 15 min episodes as a single PDF document.

How to apply: first read the  extensive guidelines on the Writersroom website. You’ll then need to submit your script using their E-submissions service (so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to set up an account).

Deadline: 24 September 2015 at 5pm

    1. Hi Alienor, our old posts stay visible on the blog (and actually go back for the five years we’ve been running), but our Weekly Roundup only contains the ones that are most up to date. This is always easily visible on the front page of the website, or you can sign up for our mailing list (also on the front page) if you’d like to make sure you’re only seeing the latest opportunities and get them sent directly to your inbox. Thanks!
