Cofilmic seeking comedy sketch submissions from writers in the North of England

Cofilmic are looking for sketch submissions from writers based in the North of England for its live event Sketch In The City. The best will be selected and performed live at the show, alongside other live comedy.

You don’t need to be an established writer to submit material and there is no entry fee.

Audiences will be asked to vote for their favourite sketch at this and subsequent shows, with the best featuring in a sketch-off event, with the winner receiving the COFILMIC Sketch of the Year award in 2016.

Submission rules and terms and conditions are:

  • Maximum run time: 3 mins
  • Max characters: 6 (but the best sketches often have the fewest characters)
  • The name of the sketch must be shown on each page and pages numbered
  • Your name, address and telephone number should be shown on the script itself
  • All sketches should involve a minimum of props, and may be edited in rehearsal
  • Material should be sent as either Final Draft pages or on a word document
  • Strictly limited to 1 sketch per person
  • Submissions should be sent to scripts@cofilmic.co.uk

Selected scripts will be announced week beginning 7th September and the relevant writers notified. Unfortunately they don’t have the time to reply to those who are not selected.

How to apply: email scripts@cofilmic.co.uk

The submission window is now open and will close at 12Noon on Monday 31st August.
